For anyone that knows us and you wouldn’t be here otherwise, will know that we love to travel and experience new adventures. So we are delighted that each and everyone of you will be there for the start of our next new adventure, as Man and Wife! We couldn’t think of any people

more special to share it with xx

Welcome to Lecce

This is the beautiful historic city where your journey with us will start!

The wedding ceremony and reception is on the Monday 14th October 2019 in Puglia, Italy. We will be having a 3 day celebration until Thursday 17th when we return home and would love for you to join us for the whole duration and make the most of your journey to beautiful Puglia.

However we do fully understand if it is not possible for you to join us for the whole or part of the duration and hope that you can at least join us for the most important day. Details of our planned events for the days following the wedding can be found by clicking below.

Flight information

The wedding ceremony and reception is on the Monday 14th October 2019 but we will be having a 3 day celebration until Thursday 17th when we return home and would love for you to join us for the whole duration and make the most of your journey to beautiful Puglia. However we do fully understand if it is not possible for you to join us for the whole or part of the duration and hope that you can at least join us for the most important day. Details of our planned events for the days following the wedding will be found on our website.

The nearest airports are Brindisi (40 mins) or Bari (90 mins).

Most people will be travelling out on the Saturday 12th or Sunday 13th and returning home on the Thursday 17th.

The Stansted to Brindisi is a morning flight leaving at 6.20am (UK time) arriving 10.10am (Italian time) currently £43 on the Saturday and £39 on the Sunday.

The Stansted to Bari flight is an evening flight leaving at 16.35pm (UK time) arriving 20.35pm (Italian time) currently £41 on the Saturday and £32 on Sunday and 55 mins later.

There is also a Luton to Bari flight on the Sunday leaving 15:25 arriving 19:25 (Italian time) which is currently £23.

Most of these flights are operated by Ryanair with exception to the Luton flight which is operated by Wizz air.

The town you need to stay in prior to the wedding is Lecce, please base yourself in the old city, where the church service will be on the Monday. Here you will find hotels in the old town that are near to the church, please find following some hotels which we have recommended for you which are resonably priced and are within close proximity to the church.

The average hotel room for 2 inc breakfast is about €50-60 (around £20-£25 per person per night) There are also some fabulous Airbnb apartments in the city too if you wish.

The return flights are a morning flight from Brindisi at 10.35 (Italian time) to Stansted arriving at 12.40 (UK time) currently £30 on Thursday the 17th.

Or an evening flight from Bari leaving at 21.55 (Italian time) arriving Stansted at 23.50 (UK time) at the moment £35

Feel free to make a holiday out of it though and stay longer if you wish as there is lots to see and do in beautiful Puglia!

Where to stay - Part one

The town you need to stay in prior to the wedding is Lecce, please base yourself in the old city from the night you arrive and checkout the morning of the wedding on the 14th October

After a lovely breakfast and getting yourself ready for the big day you can then take a short leisurely stroll to the church for around 11:45 am in time for our wedding ceremony at 12:30 pm

The Wedding Ceremony

Our ceremony will be held at Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta, Lecce

The cathedral is located in the center of the city of Lecce and sits on the southeast corner of the Piazza del Duomo. It is accessible from the piazza through two entrances, one on the north side of the building and another on the west side. The cathedral shares the piazza with other buildings, including the bell tower, the bishop's residence, and the seminary.

The principal entrance is found on the northern façade, which is considered to be a masterpiece of Baroque art. At the center is the portal, accessible by a cascading staircase. Flanking the portal are two massive columns on square bases, outside of which are niches containing statues of Saint Giusto (on the right) and Saint Fortunato (on the left).

The entablature, sitting directly above the portal, is crowned by a high balustrade alternating with columns and pilasters, above which, in the center and standing within a grand and highly decorated arch, is a statue of Saint Orontius. The western entrance, found directly across from the archbishop’s residence, is divided by fluted pilasters into three vertical sections corresponding to the three naves of the interior. Stautes of Peter and Paul flank the entrance. Part of the right side of the façade is covered by an adjacent diocesan building.

The Cathedral is located in the square of Piazza Duomo just off of the junction between the two main shopping streets of Via Giuseppe Libertini and Via Vittorio Emanuele II.

The Ceremony

Our religious Catholic ceremony will be taking place at 12:30 so if you could please arrive between 11:30 - 11:45 so you have enough time to have a little look around the Piazza and Cathedral and get yourself seated that would be great.

Transportation

After the wedding ceremony and a few photos have taken place, please make your way to collect your luggage and then from the designated meeting point (tba) the coach transfer service will take you to your chosen Masseria where you will stay for the remainder of your time with us.

The staff at the Masseria's will help you to promptly check into your room where you can drop off your luggage and have a quick freshen up before hopping back on the coach to join us at the Castello for the wedding aperitivo, dinner and party!

The night is near, the sky abandons its deep blue color to show a myriad of brighting stars that you can observe with our telescopes on the panoramic terrace.

Expect everything. The white of the stars will soon blend with the colors of the fireworks that embroider the Salento nights. All around the masseria, in the ancient villages is a fervor of patron festivals, commemorative processions, and concerts.

Guests at the farm stay can enjoy a buffet breakfast. At Masseria Fulcignano you will find a restaurant serving Italian cuisine. Vegan and gluten-free options can also be requested.

Masseria Palombara

The Wedding Reception

After you have checked into your chosen accommodation you will then be brought to our reception venue to enjoy some aperitifs before sitting down for dinner and enjoying the evening with drinking, singing and dancing!

Located in the garden at the front of the Castello, lets be seated and enjoy some amazing Italian food and wine whilst the chilled out music from the singer, piano and trumpet plays in the background!

Party time at 9pm

Time to hit the dance floor and throw some shapes, good or bad we really don't mind!

Let's all have a few drinks, have fun, be merry and dance our socks off listening to some great music by a live band followed by a DJ!
